Leave M4 at Junction 11 and take the A33 Basingstoke road. Turn left immediately after going under the railway bridge and then 3rd right into James Lane where you will see the Burghfield Community Sport Association sign. There are parking facilities adjacent to the main building. Access to the green is past the front of the main building to the patio beyond from which there is a pathway to the green via a pedestrian gate.

From Wokingham station take the Barkham and Arborfield road over the level crossing. Follow this road for about 3 miles, passing Arborfield Garrison, until you reach a roundabout. After ½ mile you will pass The Fox and Hounds pub on the left, less than ½ mile farther on turn right into the car park of The Victory Hall Social and Bowling Club.
FLACKWELL HEATH
Leave the A404 northbound for the A4155 eastbound towards Little Marlow and Bourne End. At roundabout turn left into Sheepridge Lane. At and of this road (quite long) turn right into Heath End Road which soon becomes The Straight Bit. Pass “The Common” on the left and the car park entrance soon follows (on the left).

Take the A329 to Reading and follow the inner distribution road towards Caversham. After passing under the railway bridge, turn left at the roundabout (still heading for Caversham - now on A4155) and take first right into Brigham Road. Club has a limited cark park (15 cars) about 50 yards along on the left. Alternatively park in roads nearby – but beware parking restrictions. The club says that due to limited parking on south side many visitors cross over the river and park in Wolsey Road (after crossing bridge bear right into Church Street and bear right again into Gosbrook Road – Wolsey Road is 20 yards on the right). There is a ferry across to the island (from both banks).

Access to the Bowls Club is along the path from the ‘Lord Palmer’ statue and in the smaller gate around the front of the green, opposite the houses. NB different arrangements in place for 2011; the green is in the same place but entry is by the main gate and, hopefully, we will be signposted to the car park.

When you reach the mini roundabout with the Copper Kettle on the left, turn right and go a short distance to the George Hotel on the left. Turn left here, go under the railway bridge and then take the first turning on the right into Thames Avenue. Go to the end and turn left and almost immediately, there is a turning on the right marked Recreation Ground. Follow this road into the car park. The green is at the far end of the recreation ground.

The green is in Prospect Park. Take the A4 (Bath Road) from Reading. Ignore Liebenrood Road on your right and Circuit Lane on your left. The Whiteknights entrance to the campus is almost immediately on the left. The green was reached by taking the first turning on the right, but development work recently has altered the access. In 2010 we had to take the second right and then turn right again. Probably best to ask for the staff Social Club if you are lost or phone one of us on your mobile so we can talk you down.

Follow this road for some distance; it becomes Park Lane after a mini roundabout. After several junctions this road becomes School Road. Look for Recreation Road on your right but do not take it. At next crossroads turn left into Armour Road. 3rd right is Wardle Lane which is unmade at this end. The car park and green are at the left near the end of the unmade section.
TRENTHAM

Shortest Route: (note NOT advisable at peak periods - really only suitable on Sundays).Take the A329 to Reading and join the inner distribution road. Leave the inner distribution road at the Chatham Street roundabout, taking the A329 towards Oxford/Pangbourne - as you come off the slip road take the first left, then right at traffic lights into Oxford Road. Continue on the Oxford road, over the roundabout at Norcott Road. Continue ahead, passing Waitrose and Tilehurst station. Go over the roundabout at Knowsley Road and through the traffic lights at Long Lane. At the next roundabout, turn left onto Sherwood Rise, then turn left into Bowling Green Lane. The bowling green is at the end of the road, on the left.
Quickest Route: (note: probably the preferred route at any time save Sundays). Take M4 to Theale exit. Turn left off motorway (ie travelling west) onto A4 and go to Pangbourne (ie right at next roundabout). On arriving in Pangbourne take right at first mini roundabout and then bear right at next mini roundabout (in about 100 yards). Turn right at following roundabout (after about a mile) into Sherwood Rise. Take first left and club is at end of this road on your left. Note this route has several speed cameras in 30mph zones!

Take the A4130 from Henley towards Wallingford, passing through Nettlebed and Crowmarsh Gifford before crossing the Thames into The Street, Wallingford which becomes High Street. Go straight ahead at the crossroads (Castle Street to your right). Proceed to a mini roundabout where you turn right into St Georges Road. The green is in the park to the right. Park wherever you can in St Georges Road, find the entrance to the park and be prepared for a bit of a trek over the grass to the green and clubhouse which are more or less directly in front of you.
